Since you will be able to meet almost anyone electronically, or ``virtually'', on the Internet, there will be more opportunities for communication and less time will be spent on meaningless production of artifacts and travelling around.
EAM as a subculture with a rather limited popularity can benefit from
this development since the global community interested in
electroacoustic music is big enough to form a living collective. At
the same time the distinction between EAM and other forms of music
will be more of an esthetic and sociologically determined one, than a
technical one. It really depends on the composers and other actors in
the subfield, whether EAM in the future will exist as a separate form
of music or not. The most unique feature of EAM are perhaps still that
the EAM composer most often wants to control the sound material
in more detail than the traditional instrumental composer.
